Genie Appel-Cohen
Painter, Genie Appel-Cohen, is a well-known, award-winning Florida artist. She is a Signature Member of The National Acrylic Painter's Association, (UK), a member of of The National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists. She has been honored by being listed in The Tate Gallery, London, England archives. In addition, she was one of only thirty artists, nationwide, to be invited by the U.S. Department of the Interior, to paint "en plein air", in Montana's National Parks.
Genie's work is in corporate collections which include: The Prudential Insurance Company, Interiors by Steven G, The Agent's Umbrella Group, The Hormel Meat Company, and Platinum Luxury Auctions. Her art was published in an "Invitation to Prayer", written by the late Rabbi Shoni Labowitz. She was also featured on the cover of City Link Magazine, as one of the most unforgettable artists of the year.
Her series, "Elements", a The Coral Springs Museum of Art was proclaimed by art writer Candice Russell, as "profound renderings with deep psychological undercurrents. Her expressionist work are created in both oil and acrylics; and she addresses both conventional and non-conventional subjects.
Genie is the former owner of The Art Implosion Workshops where she taught 60 students over a 5 year period in Coral Springs, Florida. In addition she is the creator of several ground-breaking workshops that inspire students to tap into their creative abilities.
Currently, she is on the faculty of The Boca Museum of Art. Genie creates workshop events in various mediums, and she continues to lecture on a wide variety of subjects. She lives in Pompano Beach with her husband, Philip.
